The DOR shared that the event will give kids the opportunity to explore the hidden world of Utah’s wildlife through hands-on activities. There will be birdwatching, animal tracking demonstrations, and wildlife-themed crafts.
Additionally, the Wasatch Wildlife Conservation Center and Cottonwood Canyons Foundation will be participating.
“We want to give kids a chance to connect with nature in meaningful and memorable ways,”
said Caroline Weiler, a youth engagement manager for the DOR. “Whether it’s spotting birds or
following tracks in the dirt, observing wildlife encourages curiosity and builds a lifelong
appreciation for Utah’s natural world.”
The DOR shared that the event takes place both indoors and outdoors. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring water. The preserve and trail are ADA accessible, and additional accommodations are available upon request.
The Observe Wildlife Challenge will take place on Thursday at Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter in Park City from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The experience is free, and guests can RSVP on Eventbrite.
