According to court documents, 21-year-old Saif Hussain was charged in Monroe County with:
- One count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 4 felony
- One count of child solicitation, a Level 4 felony
On Aug. 28, an officer with the Ellettsville Police Department was dispatched to investigate a reported instance of child molestation.
During the investigation, officers alleged that a juvenile female, identified as a 14-year-old, reportedly met a 21-year-old through Snapchat. Conversations with the 21-year-old, later alleged to be Hussain, led her to meet him in person at a Bloomington gas station and perform sexual acts.
The documents allege that the two had multiple discussions on multiple Snapchat accounts, including conversations surrounding the exchange of money and goods for sexual encounters. On Sept. 17, the teen identified a photo of Hussain as the man she met up with.
In an interview with Hussain, he denied sending any of the Snapchat messages, stressing that he did not know the teen. When confronted with information about the teen identifying him as the person she met with, he reportedly said, “I don’t know what to say to that.”
“You know, I think I’m gonna wait for an attorney because I really don’t know how to answer this,” Hussain reportedly told police when he was confronted with more information.
According to court documents, Monroe County received a corporate surety bond of $10,000 on Wednesday in relation to Hussain’s case, as well as a $500 cash bond. Hussain’s pretrial conference is scheduled for the afternoon of Nov. 24 in Monroe County.
