RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies announced a woman, who is on parole in Virginia and wanted in Indiana, is being held without bond in Mississippi.

On October 7, 2025, authorities said Tiffany Rochelle Burnside appeared in Rankin County Court and was ordered to be held without bond on charges related to a September traffic stop and identity theft.

Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said Burnside’s original arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on September 24, 2025, by a Puckett police officer. During the investigation, Burnell said Burnside was posing as another woman. She was arrested on multiple charges.

Investigators said Burnside continued posing as the other woman while being booked, fingerprinted, and even through her bonding process from the Rankin County Detention Center.

On October 1, 2025, Burnell said investigators were notified about Burnside’s identity theft crimes and initiated an investigation. After contacting Burnside’s bonding company, they agreed to have her meet with them at a location within the City of Brandon. When Burnside arrived at the location, Burnell said she continued posing as the other woman even after law enforcement detained her.

After being arrested by investigators, Burnside was additionally charged with multiple counts of making false official statements or representations.

The charges stemming from the original traffic stop include identity theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false ID information to a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct-failure to comply, and multiple traffic violations.
