The Perfect LEGO Set for Adult Fans of Nintendo Is Cheaper Than Ever for October Prime Day

I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but little toy bricks aren’t just for kids anymore. LEGO has been marketing its sets towards adults for years, and at this point many of the post popular builds are meant for an 18+ audience. I myself have joined the AFOL (adult fans of LEGO) community and can tell you first hand that its just as fun as it sounds.

It was only recently that I purchased my first set, but it was one I’d been eyeing for quite some time. The LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant had been calling my name since I first laid eyes upon it, but I kept convincing myself I was too old to buy myself toys and that it was too expensive. But then it dropped under $50 and one of my excuses was gone, so I picked one up for myself. Now I have an adorable Piranha Plant on my desk and no regrets.

So with the price of this set dropping all the way down to $35 for Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale, I feel compelled to tell you that little tale about how a LEGO set has brought a tiny bit of extra joy into my adult life. This is a really fun and easy build that makes for a first LEGO experience at an entry-level price point.

LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant Sale

If you’re still on the fence about buying this little guy, let me tell you a little bit about my own experience. The set itself is only 540 pieces, so it didn’t actually take me that long to put together once I got all of the bags out and figured out what I was doing. It took me the better part of the afternoon to put together, and I was surprised just how much I loved watching my little Piranha Plant come to life. There were a lot of really interesting pieces that went into building something that can bend and move. I also felt a nostalgic double whammy from playing with LEGO for the first time in years and having it be a classic Nintendo character that I was actually building. It definitely felt a lot like being a kid all over again, even if only for a few moments at a time.

While I did really enjoy actually building the thing, what I liked the most about this experience is that I now have a little Piranha Plant that I can put anywhere. The first thing I did after putting it together was place it in various locations throughout the house and trying out different articulated positions. It’s the perfect desk plan for Nintendo fans who don’t actually want to take care of a desk plant.

More LEGO Deals Available

While this is arguably the best LEGO deal, it isn’t the only one available right now. There are a ton of October Prime Day LEGO sales going on at Amazon right now on a quite a few cool sets. If the Piranha Plant isn’t your style, you can try out one of these other options below.
