Police find multiple people dead inside California home, investigation underway

(FOX40.COM) — An investigation is underway after law enforcement found multiple people dead inside a California home on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:23 p.m., the San Francisco Police Department responded to the 900 block of Monterey Boulevard in the Bay Area for a wellness check. It is unclear who requested the check or why it was prompted. When officers arrived, they found four unresponsive individuals who were pronounced dead at the scene. The ages and identities of the deceased have not been released.

SFPD told FOX40’s sister station, KRON, that the incident was a “rare occurrence” in that neighborhood. A photo taken outside of the crime scene shows a multi-story home in the Ingleside District of San Francisco.

The area is known for its old-school San Francisco vibe, walkable streets, and close proximity to Ocean Avenue, which has a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, local shops and new businesses.

No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
