Investigators believe Watts was walking across the street outside of a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a Kia Telluride. The Kia and its driver remained at the scene. The driver was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries

The driver was not impaired and speeding does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
