
Chicago police say the shooting unfolded just after 1:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of West 21st Place, on the Lower West Side.
Police first located the victim after they were called to a nearby hospital, after a victim arrived at the facility with a gunshot wound.
According to police, the victim, a 34-year-old man, told officers that he had been sitting inside his vehicle when he heard a loud noise and felt pain.
Officers said the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and took himself to the hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
Police said the man was not able to provide additional details about the incident and an investigation is now underway.
It remains unclear what led to the gunfire and no arrests have been made.
