DEATONVILLE, La. (KLFY) — A man involved in a single-vehicle crash in Calcasieu Parish Sunday has died, authorities said.
The crash claimed the life of Eric Linden, 45, of Lake Charles.
Louisiana State Police began investigating a single-vehicle crash just before 11 a.m. Sunday on La. 384 at the Black Bayou Bridge near Deatonville.
Investigators said a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Linden was traveling south on La. 384 towards the closed Black Bayou Bridge. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet struck the crossing arm in front of the bridge and overturned.
Linden sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he later died. A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Linden and submitted for analysis, officials said.
This crash remains under investigation.
