HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Emergency Crews were called to the scene of a fire that broke out at a ComEd substation in the northwest suburbs early Wednesday morning.

The blaze erupted at a substation located along I-90 in Hoffman Estates, just behind Canterbury Fields Park in the 1900 block of Maureen Drive.

SkyCam 9 was over the scene around 6 a.m. Wednesday, when the flames could be seen surrounding one of the pieces of equipment at the substation.

Nearby, emergency crews could be seen with emergency lights activated on their vehicles.

According to the ComEd outage map, the fire did not appear to cause any power outages for customers in the area.
