The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said people are posing as deputies, trying to trick people into giving up money or personal information.
The sheriff’s office will not call to demand payment or threaten arrest, according to the office. People should not provide any personal or financial information over the phone and hang up immediately.
Anyone in Anderson County with questions should call the sheriff’s office directly at (502) 839-4021. People who receive suspicious messages or calls should contact authorities or the Office of the Kentucky Attorney General at 502-696-5389 or 888-432-9257.
