The suspect, Javian Adams, 25, of Waterbury, was charged with murder with special circumstances, murder-commission of felony, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal use of a weapon and carrying a pistol without a permit.
During a press conference Wednesday morning, police identified his mother as Carlene Williams, 52, of Waterbury, and father as Marc Adams, 55, of Waterbury.
On Monday night, responding officers found two people in a Beverly Avenue house suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Adams’ bond was set at $5 million, and he is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
Adams had been arrested Tuesday morning, in connection with a burglary in Watertown. In part due to a suspected connection to the homicides, authorities had asked the public to be on the lookout for things they say he abandoned, including a white Ford Escape, bookbag and sneakers.
On Wednesday, Waterbury police said the car was located at a park in Middlebury and will be forensically processed.
The shooting and the burglary remain under investigation.
