Thalia Mara Hall nears reopening under joint management

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson Mayor John Horhn said Thalia Mara Hall is close to reopening for business.

The mayor said some work still needs to be completed, which includes deep cleaning the venue, asbestos work, pressure washing and restoring the fountain.

Thalia Mara Hall closed in August 2024 after mold and other safety issues were discovered.

According to Horhn, the Jackson Convention Complex Center will oversee operations and maintenance for the venue. Visit Jackson will be responsible for marketing and promoting Thalia Mara Hall.

The mayor said the city has an option to get out of the contract between both parties, if they feel the need to do so.
