DALLAS (KDAF) — Where’s the best place to catch a puck drop in America? iGaming pros GameZinger crunched thousands of Tripadvisor reviews from every NHL arena to find out which venues score big with fans – and which ones leave them cold.

The NHL arenas with the best fan experience in the U.S.

Rank Arena Team State Percentage of five-star reviews
1 Madison Square Garden New York Rangers New York 67.6%
2 PPG Paints Arena Pittsburgh Penguins Pennsylvania 66.9%
3 T-Mobile Arena Vegas Golden Knights Nevada 64.5%
4 Crypto.com Arena Los Angeles Kings California 63.4%
5 Xcel Energy Center Minnesota Wild Minnesota 62.9%
6 Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators Tennessee 61.9%
7 Amalie Arena Tampa Bay Lightning Florida 61.8%
8 United Center Chicago Blackhawks Illinois 59.6%
9 Nationwide Arena Columbus Blue Jackets Ohio 59.2%
10 American Airlines Center Dallas Stars Texas 59%

American Airlines Center in Dallas, home of the Starsrounds out the top ten with 59% five-star reviews – nearly 5 points above the national average. Fans praise its smooth operations, great sightlines, and electric atmosphere that proves hockey fever runs deep in Texas.

But not all NHL arenas offer fans a great experience.

Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, home to the Seattle Kraken, records just 30.1% five-star reviews, the lowest in the league. Despite its modern, eco-focused design, it falls far behind older arenas in fan satisfaction.

Also in the bottom five are Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. (41.4%), Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia (44.9%), Enterprise Center in St. Louis (45.4%), and Amerant Bank Arena in Florida (46.4%) – all performing well below the national average.

“The results show just how much fans value arenas that feel part of the team’s identity,” said Titko Titev, CEO and CTO of GameZinger. “One of the more surprising things was how some of the newer venues didn’t perform as well as expected. Little Caesars Arena in Detroit and Honda Center in Anaheim both have impressive facilities, but they missed the top ten. You can’t engineer atmosphere – it has to build naturally over time.

“There’s a clear pattern running through the data – the best-rated arenas reflect their cities. Nashville has its live-music energy, Vegas brings the showmanship, and New York thrives on intensity. When fans recognize a bit of their hometown in the experience, it changes everything.”
