The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has become a massive obstructionist bureaucracy. It no longer serves the best interests of our Republic. These projects should be 100% turned over to the sovereign States and local government partners. I intend to force this debate into the House of We the People, and to the attention of our President…”
According to Higgins, the USACE has failed to allow completion of the Homewood Detention Ponds Project, which is designed to provide flooding resilience for homeowners in Lafayette Parish.
Failure to complete the project leaves the surrounding communities, like Vermilion, vulnerable to flooding, Higgins said.
