BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The City of Bloomington announced Friday that applications are now open for its 2025 Local-Motion Grant Program, which funds community initiatives aimed at improving pedestrian and bicycle mobility across the city.
The program offers grants of up to $2,400 per project to support local efforts that encourage walking, biking, and sustainable transportation. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, neighborhood associations, and local businesses with creative ideas to enhance the city’s infrastructure and promote a culture of active transportation.
“The Local-Motion Grant Program is an opportunity for the community to help shape how Bloomington moves,” said Hank Duncan, the city’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator. “These projects not only make our city safer and more accessible, they also strengthen connections between neighborhoods and residents.”

The deadline to apply is Monday, November 3, 2025. Applications and program guidelines are available through the city’s website, and interested applicants are encouraged to reach out with questions.
