The Hercules Police Department responded at 8:19 a.m. to San Pablo Avenue at Victoria Crescent East on the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Arriving officers found a 75-year-old man and a 6-month-old baby in a stroller who were struck by a turning vehicle.
The baby suffered abrasions to their face while the man had shoulder pain, authorities said. The two were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, told police that the sun was in his eyes while turning, and he did not see the man pushing the baby in the stroller. A field sobriety test determined that the driver was not under the influence at the time, according to Hercules PD.
No arrest or citation was announced in the incident.
