With nowhere to throw their trash, people who live at the White Lakes Plaza Apartments have resorted to leaving piles of trash on the ground. With trash growing, District Five Councilman, Brett Kell says he will fight on behalf of the tenants and find a fix for this problem.
“It’s becoming a situation where landlords are thinking they can do whatever they want to do and tenants just have to take it,” Kell said. “And then tenants are also scared to say anything because they’re scared of retaliations, so I want to make sure the citizens and the renters are getting their rights and landlords are being held accountable for their indiscretions.”
27 News reached out to city staff about this issue and have not heard back. The manager at the apartments also did not answer our questions.
