4-H introduces AI in agriculture challenge for young innovators
The challenge, which opened Oct. 1 and runs through Nov. 15, 2025, encourages youth to apply STEM skills, think critically, and design creative solutions that could shape the future of the agriculture industry. Participants will identify a current challenge in agriculture and propose an innovative AI-driven solution to address it.
“This challenge empowers young people to explore how emerging technology can tackle some of agriculture’s biggest challenges,” 4-H officials said. “It’s about combining STEM knowledge, problem-solving skills, and imagination to create a more sustainable and productive future for farming.”
The contest is open to youth innovators nationwide and is divided into two age categories: 13-15 and 16-18. Winners will be announced during Computer Science Education Week in the second week of December.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each category:
Contest guidelines, rubrics, FAQs, and an AI education presentation are available online at https://events.projectboard.world/4HAIinAg.
Organizers say the competition is a chance for young minds to contribute fresh ideas to one of the world’s most essential industries.
