Shreveport, LA — A woman was rushed to the hospital Sunday evening, October 5, 2025 after being shot in the back near Kitty Lane and North Market Street, according to preliminary reports from Shreveport Police.
Authorities say that shortly after the shooting, an individual attempted to drive the wounded woman to a nearby hospital before emergency crews arrived. However, during the hurried transport, the vehicle crashed near the intersection of North Market Street and North Hearne Avenue.
Shreveport Police and Fire Department units responded to the crash scene within minutes. Paramedics provided emergency treatment before transporting the victim to Ochsner LSU Health for further care.
Officials have not yet released her name or current medical condition.
Investigators detained one male for questioning at the scene as detectives began collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. At least eight Shreveport Police units were observed blocking traffic in the area while the crash site and shooting scene were processed.
Detectives are now working to piece together the sequence of events that led to the shooting and subsequent crash.
No charges have been announced, and police say the investigation remains ongoing.
