One person killed in Gallia County Route 7 crash

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WOWK) – One person has died after a crash on Route 7 in Gallia County, Ohio.

According to Gallia County dispatchers, the crash happened around 10:20 a.m. Monday in the area of the Kyger Creek power plant and substation near Cheshire, Ohio. According to Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatch, a semi and a pickup truck hauling a trailer carrying a vehicle were involved.

OSHP dispatch says they have not had word from the scene on if anyone else was injured.

Dispatchers say traffic is still being diverted through Little Kyger Road and State Route 544 as emergency crews respond to the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is responding with assistance from the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, Gallipolis Volunteer Fire Department and Gallia County EMS.
