Machesney Park gas station clerks charged for selling alcohol to minors

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office has issued charges against clerks of three Machesney Park gas stations during a compliance check over the weekend.

According to police, on Saturday, October 4th, the Sheriff’s Office conducted an operation at five gas stations throughout the village, and found three out of compliance with local law.

    Charge: Sale of Alcohol to a Minor

“Selling alcohol to minors is a serious offense that puts our youth and community at risk,” said Sheriff Caruana. “We will continue to work closely with our local partners to ensure that businesses follow the law and help us maintain a safe environment for everyone in Winnebago County.”
