Funeral held for girl found dismembered in rising singer’s Tesla

Family members of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14-year-old girl found dismembered in the trunk of an impounded Tesla owned by a multiplatinum R&B singer, laid the slain teen’s body to rest Monday, according to TMZ.  

The funeral was held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary in Rowland Heights, with the outlet posting photos of family members carrying the teen’s casket to her final resting place.  

Hernandez’s severely decomposed body, her head and torso, according to investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department, was discovered on Sept. 8 after employees at Hollywood Tow reported a foul stench coming from the Tesla, which had been towed to the yard just three days earlier.  

The teen had been missing from Lake Elsinore since April 2024 when she was just 13.  

It was quickly discovered that the vehicle belonged to David Anthony Burke, 20, a well-known singer with millions of fans who performs under the name D4Vd. 

Investigators have for weeks worked to trace Hernandez’s movements prior to her death, as well as trying to determine how long the Tesla had been parked Bluebird Avenue, not far from the singer’s $20,000-a-month rental on Doheny Drive in the Hollywood Hills.  

They have also been working to confirm details that seemingly tie the 20-year-old singer to the missing girl, including reports that the singer and the teen had matching tattoos on their right index fingers with the letters “Shhh.” TMZ also reported that friends in the 20-year-old’s circle believed Hernandez was 19 years old.  

As for D4VD, who has reportedly been cooperating with police, he has since terminated his lease on the Hollywood Hills mansion and moved out, but not before his album release was shelved and both his U.S. and European tours were cancelled.  

The singer has not commented on the investigation or his alleged relationship ties to the teen.  

While officials confirmed that a search warrant was executed at the singer’s home on Sept. 17, before he moved out, detectives have said little else about the status of the case, which has reportedly rattled many of D4Vd’s fans.  

So far, no arrests have been made.
