Former Rockford private school hit by burglary, two arrested by police

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Two men have been charged after police responded to a reported burglary at a former Rockford private school.

According to police, officers responded to an alarm at the former Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy, at 3218 11th Street, and said they located Murray Smith, 68, inside, and Joseph Trejo, 38, nearby.

Both Smith and Trejo were booked into the Winnebago County Jail early Saturday, October 4th.

Smith was charged with Burglary, and Trejo with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
