Former Louisville officer convicted in Breonna Taylor case ordered to report to prison

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Nearly a year after his conviction, former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison has been ordered to turn himself in on Thursday to serve his prison sentence.

In November 2024, a federal jury found Hankison guilty of violating Breonna Taylor’s civil rights during a 2020 police raid of her home.

He was sentenced to 33 months in prison.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

According to the Louisville FOX affiliate WDRB, the judge allowed Hankison to remain free on bond until the U.S. Bureau of Prisons found the right place to put him.

His lawyers have since appealed the conviction.

A judge has not yet ruled or set a hearing for that appeal.
