Amazon Has Dropped Its Range of PS5 Pro Refurbs to Just $620 for Prime Day

Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro drew plenty of discussion when it launched last year, but a lot of that was centered around its price tag of $699.99… which has since gone up to $749.99 (woops).

That’s steep, of course, but if you’re happy buying a ‘renewed’ console, you can save plenty at Amazon ahead of tomorrow’s Prime Day deals.

The retailer has the PS5 Pro in its ‘renewed premium’ selection, bringing the console down to $699.99 right off the bat. Now, however, it’s added a further discount to bring the console down to $619.99, a sizeable drop from the $749.99 you’d pay for one new.

As for what the PS5 Pro offers, its improvements over the base PS5 come in four categories: Advanced ray-tracing, a bigger GPU, and AI-based upscaling.

Sony calls these features the big three, and the fourth is more of a nice-to-have: 2TB of storage, up from 1TB on the original PS5.

This renewed option comes from Amazon’s own Woot outlet, too, and the company says it’s been “inspected, tested, cleaned, and refurbished as necessary by Amazon-qualified suppliers”.

In our review, we said, “The PlayStation 5 Pro is an impressive console with noticeable boosts in performance and graphics for games that take advantage of its powerful hardware.”

“But for $700, you’ll need to think twice about whether or not the upgrade is worth the price tag.”

This deal helps negate that gripe about price, but it’s worth noting that Prime Day in July saw an even bigger price drop, with the console hanging around $500 in a “Used – Like New” condition. With that in mind, it might be worth holding fire for a few hours until the deals arrive.

That being said, this deal could also sell out in the meantime, so it’s a gamble either way.
