Alabama man killed at party identified

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man is dead after a shooting at a large event venue in Troy.

Sheriff Russell Thomas identified the victim as 23-year-old Bobby Lee David Miracle Lucas. He is a father of one young son.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday at Hideaway Events on Garden Bassett Road. According to Thomas, there were around 300 people at the rented event plaza when the shots rang out.

Thomas said everyone ran out of the venue, and responding deputies found Lucas dead near the front door of the building.

The investigation is ongoing, and there has been no word on an arrest. The venue was filled with people from across Alabama, including from Birmingham and Mobile, and deputies are conducting interviews.
