ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Shyron Henderson, one of the four men charged in connection with a deadly shooting at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford, is set to go to trial tomorrow.

The shooting occurred on July 23, 2022, when Rockford Police officers responded to reports of a large gathering and multiple shots fired at Sinnissippi Park around 4:30 a.m.

Officers found 27-year-old Louis Coleman suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. Shawn Tatum, 28, was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Two others were injured in the shooting, and the Rockford Police’s Gang Unit identified the suspects involved. Henderson was arrested in Janesville, while Jamie Pearson and Christopher Jackson were arrested in Rockford. Davon Lewis was already in custody on unrelated charges at the time of his arrest.

Henderson’s trial is scheduled for tomorrow, with court hearings for the other suspects set for later this month and in November.
