Texas man and his dog struck by vehicle south of Mountain Home Thursday morning

A man from Texas and his dog were struck by a vehicle south of Mountain Home Thursday morning. The man, 65-year-old Daniel Pasuale Buttino of Georgetown, Texas was seriously injured and flown from the scene by Air Evac to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield. The driver of the vehicle, 47-year-old Carrie Olson of Norfork, was not injured. The dog was killed in the accident.According to the report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on Old Military Road when Olson’s vehicle crossed the center line and opposite lane of traffic and struck Buttino and his dog. The vehicle continued through the ditch, crossed a driveway and then reentered the roadway. Olson then returned to the scene and called emergency personnel.
