By rssfeeds-admin FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A man was arrested Friday after allegedly shooting a woman in Sumerduck, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said George Michael Drerup, 43, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, brandishing a firearm, and reckless handling of a firearm.
According to deputies, shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to shots fired in the 4400 block of Shawnee Lane.
There, a woman claimed she was hiding in her car outside of a home after she had gotten into a fight with Drerup. During the encounter, he allegedly punched her and shot her in the ear.
Deputies said the woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Drerup was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
