68-year-old woman dies in fatal scooter accident in Oregon, Illinois

OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — A woman is dead after her scooter was struck by a pickup truck in rural Oregon, Illinois.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Kathryn Good, 68, of Streamwood, was driving her 2018 Yamaha SMAX scooter eastbound in the area of 5000 W. Pines Road.

Authorities said a 2017 black Ford F-150, driven by Jason Sweazy, 54, of Chicago, was headed westbound when it began to turn into a private drive.

Good struck the rear quarter panel of the Ford as the Ford turned in front of her, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges have been announced. Police said the crash remains under investigation.
