(WHTM) – Janelle Stelson (D) reported raising more than $1.2 million in her second bid for Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District.

Stelson, a former broadcast journalist who is endorsed by Governor Josh Shapiro, formally launched her campaign three months ago in another attempt to unseat incumbent Congressman Scott Perry (R). Her campaign says more than 8,000 individual donors contributed to her Q3 fundraising.

Dauphin County Commissioner Justin Douglas and Army veteran William Lillich have also announced their candidacies in the Democratic primary. Neither has filed a Q3 fundraising report at this time.

“Central Pennsylvanians know Janelle Stelson, and they know that she will fight to lower costs and improve their lives in Congress,” said Alma Baker, Stelson for Congress Campaign Manager. “That’s why we are proud to have received the support of so many individuals across our community who are sick and tired of Scott Perry selling us out and are ready for new leadership. Janelle has the momentum and resources to beat Scott Perry and deliver real representation for Central Pennsylvania.”

In 2024, Perry defeated Stelson by about 5,100 votes; however, it was the closest a challenger has come to unseating Perry.

Perry has not yet released his Q3 fundraising report; during Q2, he reported raising nearly $900,000.

Three other Republicans have filed to primary Perry in next spring’s primary: attorney Karen Dalton, Josh Hall, and Gavin Solomon. Neither of the three challengers has filed Q3 fundraising reports at this time.

According to Federal Election Commission filings, Solomon has filed to run for Congress in multiple states, and on September 11, the FEC formally requested additional information from Solomon regarding his intentions.

The 10th District covers Dauphin County and parts of Cumberland and York counties.
