Person seriously hurt in Bowie house fire

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — One person was “seriously hurt” after a Friday house fire in Bowie, according to the Prince George’s County Fire Department (PGFD).

Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire just after 5:30 p.m. in the 12400 block of Starlight Lane, where thick smoke could be seen coming from a two-story home.

Additionally, flames could be seen engulfing the back porch area.

According to firefighters, one resident was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The flames were extinguished, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
