Lexington man killed in Whitley County 3-vehicle crash
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man has died, and a juvenile and one other man were hurt on Friday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash in Whitley County.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 4, according to Kentucky State Police. Troopers with Post 11 in London were sent to US-25W North to reconstruct the deadly crash.

An initial investigation showed that a juvenile was driving south in a red Chevrolet Sonic when the car crossed the center line, side-swiping a Toyota RAV4 driven by Danny Burton, 68, of Lexington, who was heading north.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Burton allegedly kept going after being crashed into, before crossing the center line in his vehicle and crashing head-on into a white Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Starlin Shephard.

All three people were taken to Baptist Health in Corbin by emergency personnel, where Burton was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m. by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

Shephard and the juvenile were both treated with minor injuries and released from the hospital, per state police.

The deadly crash investigation remains ongoing.
