Capitol police arrest two juveniles in shooting death of 17-year-old
Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said the two juveniles were arrested on October 2 and October 3 in connection to the death of Saleh Humaid.
Capitol police said the homicide occurred in the area of Sunnyvale Drive and Sandalwood Place just before 9:30 p.m. on September 19, 2025.
Family members said Humaid was playing soccer with a cousin when they were approached by suspects who attempted to rob them. The young men tried to flee, but the family said Humaid was shot twice.
Martin said the investigation is ongoing, and Capitol police anticipate filing additional charges.
