CHICAGO — A restaurant on the city’s North Side was boarded up on Saturday morning after it was damaged in an overnight crash that left two people hospitalized.

According to police, the crash unfolded just before 10 p.m. Friday in the 5100 block of North Western Avenue.

According to police, the driver who crashed into the building was headed southbound in the area in a blue BMW when he allegedly collided with a silver Honda, which was being driven by a 25-year-old man, that was facing northbound.

Officers said the vehicle was being driven by a 34-year-old man who had a 17-year-old girl as a passenger.

After crashing into the Honda, officers said the BMW driver then crashed into a building.

Both the man and the girl were injured in the crash and were later hospitalized in stable condition.

The driver of the Honda refused medical attention on the scene.

It remains unclear why the silver Honda was facing north, or if it was on the wrong side of the road, but officers say no citations were issued.
