1 dead after being struck by vehicle on Indy’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after one person was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Indy’s east side Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 6 a.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of N Shadeland Avenue on the report of a personal injury accident.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a male in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased on scene, IMPD said.

Investigators say the driving of the striking vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
