“It’s with a heavy heart that I’m announcing my retirement and the end of my position as Chief of Police in Yazoo City. I want to thank the great people of Yazoo City along with the wonderful people of Yazoo County for allowing me to serve you. For twenty years, Yazoo has been my home. And what a ride it’s been!” said Gann.
He was named the Yazoo City police chief two years ago. Before joining the police department, Gann worked at the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
“I moved to Mississippi in the late 90s from Arkansas to Pearl and finally to Yazoo in 2004. It has always been my passion to go back home some day to spend the rest of my days with my family. I’m finally getting to do that,” he stated.
Gann said his last day with the Yazoo City Police Department will be on October 10, 2025.
