Village of Salado announces mayoral vacancy

SALADO, Texas (FOX 44) – The Village of Salado has announced a vacancy in the Office of Mayor.

The Village announced Friday afternoon that Mayor Bert Henry recently moved outside the boundaries of the Village. This change in residency results in a vacancy in the Office of Mayor, in accordance with Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 22, Section 22.008.

Alderman Zach Hurst is currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem and will fulfill mayoral duties in the interim. The Board of Aldermen will discuss a potential appointment to fill the mayoral vacancy at an upcoming meeting. The public will be provided notice of this meeting in accordance with state law.

The Village says it remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continued effective governance during this period.
