(KRON) — The winter sports season is two months away, but signs of winter weather are returning to the Sierra Nevada.
The mountain range received its first snowfall of the season Friday morning. Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort spokesperson Shelby Dunlap told KRON4 that the slopes are tentatively scheduled to open on Nov. 28.
KRON4 Meteorologist Brady Brewster reports that the mountain will continue to see trace amounts of snow at elevations above 8,000 feet.
“This isn’t a huge snow event by any means,” Brewster said. “But kind of the first snowfall of the [season] for that area, so kind of exciting.”
