TOPEKA (KSNT) – A 36-year-old Topeka man was seriously injured after a two-vehicle motorcycle crash in Jackson County on Thursday.

Around 3:30 p.m., the 36-year-old was driving a Honda VTX1300S6 south on US-75. A 70-year-old man from Goff, Kansas, was also driving south in a Ford Explorer.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the 70-year-old was stopped or slowing traffic. The 36-year-old lost control of his motorcycle and overturned, hitting the back of the Ford Explorer. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder of US-75.

The 36-year-old wasn’t wearing his helmet and the 70-year-old wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the KHP crash log. The 36-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his serious injuries.
