Sentenced: 27-year-old pleads guilty to murdering 72-year-old man

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Reginald Roberson entered a guilty plea to manslaughter charges in front of District Judge Chris Victory on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

Roberson was set to stand trial on October 27 for the shooting death of Eddie Lee Rogers, a 72-year-old man, that occurred on May 24, 2023.

Rogers was discovered in the MLK neighborhood near David Raines Road with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Information provided by Crimestoppers helped authorities identify Roberson as a suspect in the case.

No witnesses were present at the scene of the shooting.

The victim’s family was involved in approving and coordinating the plea deal and sentencing.

Roberson was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Victoria Washington.
