Man fatally shot in Little Village, CPD investigating
SkyCam9 flew above the scene of CPD’s shooting investigation at Cermak and Rockwell. Just before 3:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the 2600 block of W. Cermak, Chicago police said someone in an unknown car exited the vehicle, approached a 29-year-old man, and opened fire.
The shooting victim suffered gunshot wounds to the body and facial area, according to police.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
Sources initially told WGN News that three children were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. In an update Friday evening, sources said that two children, ages four and six, were inside the car as the shooting occurred. None of the children suffered injuries.
No one is in custody.
Area detectives are investigating.
