Guns, drugs found in vehicle after tailgater stopped in American Canyon: PD
An American Canyon Police Department officer stopped the vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner, around 5 p.m. on Highway 29 near Highway 12 after observing the driver speeding and tailgating another vehicle. During contact with the driver, the officer’s K-9 alerted to the presence of suspected narcotics, according to authorities.
A search of the Toyota located three loaded firearms, suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and evidence of drug sales, American Canyon PD said. Two of the guns were unregistered.
The driver was identified as Daniel Castillo, 37, of North Highlands. Castillo was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections for being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying loaded firearms illegally and possession of controlled substances for sale.
The passenger, Crystal Bingham, 44, of Napa, was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections for two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
