(KRON) — A driver and passenger were arrested Wednesday in American Canyon after being stopped for alleged speeding and tailgating. A search of their vehicle uncovered narcotics and three loaded firearms, police said.

An American Canyon Police Department officer stopped the vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner, around 5 p.m. on Highway 29 near Highway 12 after observing the driver speeding and tailgating another vehicle. During contact with the driver, the officer’s K-9 alerted to the presence of suspected narcotics, according to authorities.

A search of the Toyota located three loaded firearms, suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and evidence of drug sales, American Canyon PD said. Two of the guns were unregistered.
