According to the Searcy County Sheriff Office, authorities with several agencies in Arkansas traveled to DeLand, Florida, to arrest Mark R. Brown in the death of 69-year-old Mona Sloop.
Deputies said Sloop was found dead at her home in Searcy County in July. Officials had confirmed that she had been dead for an unknown period of time when she was found.
Brown was arrested Wednesday and is facing a capital murder charge. Searcy County deputies said they also worked with authorities in Florida to make the arrest.
Investigators said this is an ongoing case and more arrests in the case are possible.
