Five Below To Open Two New New Jersey Stores as Part of 150-Store National Growth

Five Below plans two more shops in New Jersey, pushing its state count to 70. The chain picked Linden and Wayne for its newest spots while working toward a bigger goal: adding 150 stores across the U.S. by late 2025.

Shoppers can check out the Linden spot at 860 W. Edgar Road starting Oct. 3. The Wayne shop at 625 Hamburg Turnpike starts business Oct. 31. These additions build on the chain’s quick growth, which saw 55 new stores pop up just this year.

The store’s money news looks strong. They made $1.03 billion from April through June: that’s 23.7% more than last year’s $830.1 million.

“We are excited to deliver second quarter results that exceeded our sales and earnings expectations,” said CEO Winnie Park in an Aug. 27 earnings statement to NJBiz.com. “These results demonstrate the effectiveness of our strategy and are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and tight collaboration of our teams.”

The business started small in a Philadelphia suburb 23 years back. Now it sells all sorts of stuff: from shirts to room decor, sports things to craft supplies, party goods to sweets. You’ll find their stores, more than 1,800 of them, all over the country.

In New Jersey, they just cut the ribbon at Columbia Park Center in North Bergen. Next up: a fresh spot at Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung.

The Linden store joins Legacy Square, built where GM once made cars. Now it’s got big names like Walmart Supercenter, plus spots to grab food at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Wawa, and Starbucks.

Wayne’s new store fits into Plaza Square, next to Aldi. It marks the third Five Below in town, adding to spots at Waynechester Plaza and Wayne Town Center.

Park talked about what’s next: “Looking ahead, we remain laser-focused on delivering the magic of Five Below as we transition to Halloween and then the all-important holiday season. We will continue to surprise and delight our customers with trend-right products, exceptional value, and an amazing experience.”
