Charges upgraded for Mississippi man accused of impregnating child

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Charges have been upgraded for the man accused of impregnating a 12-year-old.

According to the Harrison County Jail’s website, Kurtis Emmert, 36, has been charged with one felony count of statutory rape and grooming of a child. He was previously charged with touching a child for lustful purposes.

The Sun Herald reported Emmert went to the Harrison County Jail on September 28, 2025, to report he had impregnated the child.

According to the jail’s website, Emmert’s bond was set at $1 million.
