WNC highlights mental health resources one year post-Helene
“This one-year milestone can stir up many emotions as folks grapple with the toll that the storm and its aftermath have taken on them,” said Matt Calabria, Director of GROW NC. “But help is available. Hope4NC and Resources for Resilience offer free, confidential programs designed specifically for those struggling from Helene’s impact. We encourage everyone to take advantage of these resources and spread the word to others who may need help.”
Hope4NC assists individuals experiencing stress, emotional fatigue, or a mental health crisis related to Hurricane Helene recovery. Hope4NC is free, confidential, and available 24/7. The best way to learn about this resource is to call the helpline at 1-855-587-3463.
In partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services and Vaya Health, Resources For Resilience is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers weekly programming for western North Carolina residents affected by Hurricane Helene. You can find Resources for Resilience events here.
