Trans-Siberian Orchestra returns to Dallas with immersive rock opera experience

DALLAS (KDAF) — The much-anticipated return of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is set to electrify fans in Dallas once again. Known for its genre-defying fusion of rock, classical, and theatrical storytelling, the iconic rock opera will take the stage at the American Airlines Center on Saturday, December 20, with two performances at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

This year’s production promises to be bigger and more immersive than ever. According to Al Pitrelli, TSO’s guitarist, writer, and musical director, the team has been hard at work since January to elevate the experience.

“We wanted to change the show up drastically from last year,” Pitrelli said. “We’ve been working on the special effects to make them…more.”

For the first time in years, the group will perform “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve”, one of the most beloved stories by TSO founder Paul O’Neill. While the narrative remains a fan favorite, Pitrelli says audiences can expect a fresh take.

“We’ve put a couple spins on it, but it will be completely different than anything anybody in Dallas has ever seen,” Pitrelli said.

TSO’s performances are far from traditional rock concerts. They blend orchestral arrangements, choral harmonies, and high-energy rock with Broadway-level theatricality, all woven into a beautifully written story that resonates across generations.
