The annual IFA show in Berlin (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) is a global platform for bleeding-edge appliance and CE technology, and last month’s 2025 event didn’t disappoint.
One particularly novel introduction was a three-in-one washer from Haier’s Italian subsidiary, Candy. The MultiWash features a trio of independent drums: a main 22-pound tub and two 2.2-pound baskets. Each has its own program, temperature and duration settings, allowing users to, for example, launder delicate garments, baby apparel and sportswear separately and simultaneously — and all in about 22 minutes.
Haier said the unit features an AI-based “Intelligent Central System” that doles out water and manages power usage in one smart solution to ensure premium performance while helping to reduce utility bills. Other innovations include on board UV disinfection and a “Clean Shield” coating to help deep clean clothes while prolonging the tubs’ durability.
Beyond functionality, Haier said the Multi Wash’s “distinctive and original” design — reminiscent of a floor-standing loudspeaker — is intended to “smoothly interact with other elements of the home.” But as Tom’s Guide correspondent and IFA attendee Grace Dean noted, “This is the weirdest washing machine I’ve ever seen … and if you can get over how weird it looks (literally like a huge face), it’s actually kind of genius.”
No word yet on a U.S. launch.
